Just a quick post to ask the mama's if they cloth diaper and what kind they use. I have been doing lots of research on this topic and have come up with a few ideas of my own. Not only do I want to start being more "green " but Ethan has a continual rash on his bum and lower back from the diapers. Cloth diapers have become more convenient and easy to use now a days so I'm thinking this will be a good thing. They are just like a regular disposable diaper but don't have chemicals and obviously can be reused. They are so darn cute too, but spendy . I read a statistic that you save 4,000.00 dollars a year on 2 kids with cloth diapers verses disposable ones. I just need to find a brand that works because there are so many kinds out there..velcro, snap, fitted, pinned etc... I think I like these: http://shop.thegoodmama.com/. Any-who I'm open for advise!

You go girl, but it's definitely not for me. I'm afraid I have no advice for you other than - did you try any different brands of disposables to help with the rash - OR did you ask your doc about it? Perhaps it isn't from the diapers but from something else? More acidic #2 can come with teething and can cause diaper rash and even yeast infections (which look like diapers rash, just bumpy). Sorry - this is too much info for a comment. I'll email ya! :)
I started cloth diapering when Marley was little, I got some hand me downs from my sister-in-law and some new ones. She gave me some bumGenius which are really good they dont need diaper covers or anything. Those are a pretty popular brand. i also got some Blueberries which i liked too. my favorites were the grobabies because they didnt make her bum look HUMONGOUS! lol. and she could still fit into regular clothes. those are all velcro brands. I had to stop putting them on her though because they got too small and the velcro was really bugging her belly. and actually the grobabies got too small for her because shes so chunky lol. i still put them on her every once in awhile if we run out of diposables and i dont feel like going to the store. im am going to go back to cloth diapering soon but i'm going to use kissaluvs contours. i actually wrote a blog about it a little while back. they are a lot cheaper. you can get like 12 of them for 77 dollars or 20 for 120 dollars i think. and then you just put a diaper cover over them. I don't think they would be as bulky. but i love cloth diapers and theyre extremely easy to use.. they're not a hassle or gross to wash or anything.. well at least i dont think so.. and they save you a lot of money.. heres the link to that blog.. http://bobbyandkourtney.blogspot.com/2009/09/updates-updates-updates.html..good luck ;)
I don't cloth diaper either, good luck! They are so cute, but I fear that I don't have the energy (nor would Ares' school allow it). If you do, take pics! They're so adorable!
(Oh, and that wreath recipe looks awesome! Thanks!)
