Toddlers are like that drunk college friend

Have you ever noticed that?
They are so much fun, they are always dancing around, doing something crazy.
They fall over and trip all the time, and they act like it's no big deal.
They talk a ton but don't make much sense and you say "that's great honey" even though you don't have a clue what they are talking about.
They can go from laughing to crying in under a second.
They will randomly get naked and run through the house.
They need your help putting them to bed.
They will randomly give you hugs in the middle of a conversation and tell you they love you.
If you take their drink away from them, they freak out.
They will talk to anybody, doesn't matter if they've never met before.

They have been known to pee their pants.
Your needs are completely none of their concern.

Baptismal Birthday

I don't think I ever posted any pictures on the blog about Ethan's baptism. What kind of mother/blogger am I!?!

We'll its Ethan's 1yr baptismal birthday . My sister in law Amy/Ethan's God mama took these pictures. I love them, love them, love them. I was secretly relying on her photography skills that day :) Thanks Amy for these pictures, they will forever be treasured.

We have this picture framed at home and I just love looking at it everyday. He just looks so innocent.

The cross was a present from Grandma Jane, it has a mustard seed inside. The gown was made by Drew's Grandma Nelson and was used by Bill, Becky, Drew, Lukey, Eloise, Ethan and baby Isaiah. I never had the pleasure of meeting Drew's Grandma, but I know she was with us that day .

Ethan's God Parents are Uncle Bill and Auntie Amy.

This is probably one of the few pictures I have of my baby when he was sleeping. So very precious.

18 Month Check Up.

Ethan isn't 18 months old yet but I didn't know that there was a 15 month check up and a 18 month check up so I had to bring him in at almost 17 months. Anywho, he had to get 3 shots in the leg . I hate watching him gets shots:( The nurse was kinda peevi'n me off a bit because she would stop after each shot and say how much she hated doing this, finally I asked her to just hurry up and stick him FAST! She probably thinks I'm a snot, but I don't care. I'm there for my little Monkey no matter who gets mad in the process. He will probably think that I'm too over protective when he gets older and I'm ok with that:)

Here are his stats

Weight-25lbs, 50th percentile.

Height- 33 inches, 62 percentile.

Head- I don't remember ,I have to look again but it was 50th percentile.

Weight for height - 52nd percentile

Seriously, there has to be more of these little faces in our house.

I love that my sister in law introduced me to blogging, I'm so very thankful to her for that. Even when I'm at work or away from home I can pull up my blog on my computer or phone and look at my sweet baby and handsome husband. Its also very cool that I can look back and see when I was pregnant with Ethan and then look at him now.

This is a very popular face in our household these days :) It usually sounds like this..Ehhhhhh...

Ethan loves my DB wallet. Either he likes it because he sees me use it all the time or its because he already wants our money:)

This gown was way too big but it was too cute not to let him wear. Plus it kept him warm.

Smart little boy... trying to get away before the needles come out. I was about to do the same myself.

I love Ethan's doctor (Dr. Mary Brown) she's such a helpful, amazing , smart lady. She always has great advise when we ask her questions and shes very comfortable to be around. Most importantly she wants whats best for Ethan. We plan to have her as his doctor for many many years. I think Drew had his same pediatrician until he was 18.

More Beauty

I just wanted to share a couple of my favorite pictures. I just discovered these flowers and it looks like they attract butterfly's too. Bonus! I have to plant some of these next year. Does anyone know the name of these flowers? I could probably just ask my brother in law Jeff..he knows all about flowers. These types of pictures would be twice as fun to take if I had the 60mm or 105mm lens that I so desperately want.Some day right? :)

Weekend with Grandma

My Grandma Rose came to visit us from Marshall this past weekend . This is only the second time that she and Ethan have met. It was special to have her spend the night at our house and I think she had a good time.

The first night we took her to Benihana to experience a tappenyaki bar. I LOVE their food ..so yummy! Ethan had a great time too with his chopsticks and he even liked the food. He didn't like getting hit with a hot piece of flying rice though :) After his mild breakdown he enjoyed the rest of dinner.


After dinner grandma helped give Ethan a bath. As you can see he doesn't really like anyone besides Drew and I in the bathroom with him while hes bathing :) This picture cracks me up!

Sunday morning with grandma!

We watched Imagination Movers with Ethan, which by the way is his favorite show. Dancing, singing, bright colors and goofy guys! While Ethan watched, grandma and I drank coffee and chatted. After coffee we all had a great breakfast with fruit, quiche, bacon and Cinnamon rolls. Makes me hungry just talking about it.

Look at the years between these hands. So amazing what life has in store of all of us.

After breakfast my mom, sister and brother met up at our house and we all went to Como Zoo and Conservatory. It was a HOT day but we managed to stay positive and hydrated. They had lots of cool exhibits to look at and we all had a nice day together.

Monday afternoon I wanted to treat my grandma to her first pedicure so we went to Fantasy Nails. Not the most classy place, but I've been coming here for years and I like it. I tried to get her into a real salon but they were all booked and don't do pedicures at the same time with multiple people. My grandma, mom and I all had a relaxing time and my grandma almost fell asleep and kept saying how good it felt. I'm so glad I got to make these memories with her and my family this weekend. Love you grandma!

16 months old!

Dear Ethan,

Boy, are you always on the move and interested in everything!!! You are a very smart little man and even know how to spell! Auntie Amy and Uncle Bill gave you a Go Fish dvd, for your baptism I think and you LOVE it . There is a song on the dvd that spells the word B.I.B.L.E and you copy them and spell it too! How cute is that? You also LOVE The Imagination Movers and jump up and down every time you hear them start to sing.

I think you have daddy's eye shape and my eye color. The best of both worlds! Your also very stubborn and impatient..which might not be the best of both worlds :)

OK, so this picture is big because I love your facial expression. I was giving your face zurberts and you were laughing hysterically.You are too stinkin cute. Daddy said you look chubby...your not, I'm just squishing your face.Your actually a little guy.

You have 8 teeth now and 4 molars coming through which doesn't always make you a happy toddler. Uggh I hate using that word toddler. Makes my little baby seem too old!

You love to be outside and run in the yard and watch our neighbors through the fence. You also like to play catch with Dougie and tease him with sticks. Just the other day you had a nice lookin stick that Dougie wanted so he just jumped up on your chest and pushed you into the kiddie pool. I think Dougie is trying to get rid of you:) You were NOT happy about that.

I try to take these pictures every month, but as you can see its more like every 5 months.
